Complete this sentence by selecting the word you’d use in a conversation with friends: The food was _______ tasty

No matter where in the country you find yourself, chances are you’ll hear food being described as really tasty, with 37% of respondents using this term. However, speakers under the age of 44 seem to prefer their food tasting proper, very or well tasty.

Food seems to be proper tasty in the north-east of England and in Manchester, whereas in Yorkshire it is more likely to be right tasty. If it’s real tasty food you’re after, head to Lincolnshire or make a trip to the west country if you prefer a gurt tasty meal. You can enjoy jolly tasty food across the country, but catch it while it’s still hot as the term seems to be on the decline
