Emily says

“The fieldworkers were sent out to random villages in search of people to interview. Once they arrived at a village, they set about finding suitable subjects and were always put up by local people. When they were settled, they wrote a quick postcard or letter to tell Harold Orton back in Leeds how they were getting on. This collage uses the envelope as a container for the words and interviews in visual form. If you look closely, you can find the words which were all found to describe ‘hoar-frost’, meaning frost.”
